Short version: this is my personal blog. It collect as little about you as it can, nobody selling nothing about you and if you want something taken down, ask. The long version below, cause yall know I keep receipts and so should the site.
Who we are
This is eboblack.net. My site. Eboni, Black Eb, Louisville, Kentucky. I write it and I run it. A web guy keeps the lights on behind the scenes and has technical access to the site, and that is all he use it for. Keeping it running. He aint reading ya comments for fun.

Comments
When you leave a comment, the site keep what you typed in the form (name, email, website if you added one, and the comment), plus your IP address and browser user agent string to help catch spam.
An anonymized string made from your email address (a hash) may get sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. Their privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture show up next to it for everybody to see.
Comments are moderated. Abusive, spam, or putting somebody’s private business out there gets deleted. And yes, blocking is real and it is permanent. Aht aht.
Media
If you upload a picture to the site, like in a comment, dont upload one with location data baked in (EXIF GPS). Anybody can download an image off the site and pull the location out of it.
The pictures on this site are mine or used with permission. They got real people in them. My family, my friends, folks at events, folks at the spots I eat at. If you in a picture on here and you want it gone or your face blurred, DM me through the links up top and it will get handled. You aint got to tell me why.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you can opt in to saving your name, email and website in cookies so you dont have to type it all again next time. Those last one year.
If you go to the login page, a temporary cookie gets set to check if your browser take cookies. No personal data in it, and it is gone when you close the browser.
If you log in (only site staff can), login cookies and screen options cookies get set. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you hit “Remember Me.” Screen options cookies last a year. Log out and the login cookies go away.
If you edit or publish a post, one more cookie gets saved with just the post ID of what you edited. That one expire after a day.
Other services embedded on the site (see the next section) may set their own cookies. Thats them, not me.
Embedded content from other sites
Posts on here may have Instagram posts, Facebook posts, TikTok videos, YouTube videos, or maps embedded in them. Embedded content from another website act exactly like you went to that website yourself.
Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, add their own tracking, and watch how you interact with the embed, including tracking you if you got an account there and you logged in. Thats their house, their rules.
Sponsored posts, local spots and affiliate links
Yall know I pull up on local businesses. Some of them visits is paid, some is gifted, some is worked out with the owner. Any post that is sponsored, paid for, or where the plate or product came free is marked as such at the top of that post. Every time.
Some links on this site might be affiliate links, meaning I might make a lil something if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Those are marked where they show up.
None of that change what I write. If the plate dry, the post say the plate dry.
Who we share your data with
Nobody buying ya data off me. It aint for sale, for rent, or for trade.
It only go to the services the site need to run:
- The web host that stores the site and its database.
- Gravatar, for the comment pictures, like it say above.
- Whatever analytics tool is listed above, if any.
- Any spam filter (for example, Akismet), which gets comment data to check if it is spam.
- The platforms whose content is embedded, like it say above.
If you ask for a password reset, your IP address will be in the reset email.
How long we keep your data
If you comment, the comment and its metadata stay on the site so your next comments can get recognized and approved instead of sitting in a queue.
For users that register on the site (site staff only), the profile info they gave is stored too. They can see, edit or delete it any time except the username. Admins can see and edit it as well.
What rights you have over your data
If you left comments on here, you can ask for a file of the personal data we got on you, including anything you gave us. You can also ask for it to be erased. That dont cover data we got to keep for admin, legal, or security reasons.
Same go for pictures and names. If you in a photo or named in a post and you want that changed, ask and it get handled.
To make a request, DM me on Facebook or Instagram using the links at the top of this page. You get an answer within 30 days.
Where your data is sent
Comments may get checked through an automated spam detection service. Site data live on servers run by our web host, and those might be outside the United States. Embedded content sends data to whoever that company is, wherever they at.
Children
This site is not for kids under 13 and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anybody under 13. If you think a child put personal info in a comment, DM me and it come down.
Children show up in pictures on this site with their parent or guardian’s okay.
Changes to this policy
This page might change as the site change. The date at the top tell you when it was last touched. If you keep using the site after a change, that mean you good with the new version.
